Victoria Thomas
Victoria Thomas has extensive experience with non-profit and human rights organizations. Prior to coming to the Shanker Institute she worked for Freedom House, and the Foundation for Democratic Education, the Center for a Free Cuba. She has a B.A. in government from the College of William and Mary and a M.P.A. in public administration from George Washington University. She has several rescued cats and one dog (who somehow snuck in). She is on the board of the Montgomery County Partnership for Animal Welfare (MCPAW) and the Montgomery County Community Cat Coalition, and in 2012 she was named Volunteer of the Year for the Montgomery County Humane Society. She volunteers in the cat rooms at the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center and for the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County..
